Thinking of direct investing? Think again...

Managed funds are not catering to the best interests of investors. To keep funds flowing via their financial planner distribution channels, fund managers charge disincentives for those who invest directly.

Fund managers (such as Colonial First State and BT Financial) use a process called “dialling down of fees”, whereby the typical 4% upfront entry fee can be reduced by the planner to benefit the client. But when the client invests directly, they have to pay the full 4%.

Worthy and Unworthy Victims

Worthy and unworthy victims at Belsen Belsen, in Iraq and Afghanistan, under Ground Zero!- by Stephen Lendman

Economist and media critic Edward S. Herman and social and political critic Noam Chomsky note two kinds of victims in their classic 1988 book "Manufacturing Consent." So does journalist and documentary filmmaker John Pilger in his writings. "Unworthy" ones are the many unmentioned tens of thousands killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and all other places by US, Israeli and other rapacious imperial waring and occupying forces. "Worthy" ones, however, are those prominently mentioned who died or were hurt on September 11, 2001 in the US, on July 7, 2005 in a dubious London "terrorist" bombing, on March 11, 2004 in the Madrid train bombings,

Both Parties Force A Deadly Nuclear Future

Submitted by Anja Light on Sun, 29/04/2007 - 11:37

Well, it's confirmed. Both parties aim to force us into a deadly nuclear future. Labour will exploit more uranium (did anyone else notice how happy Premier Peter Beattie was with the 'Yes' vote, despite his recent assurances that we in QLD will not be forced to accept more uranium mines?), export cancer and consign future generations to deal with toxic nuclear waste.

Tell FDA: NO Food From Cloned Animals

Submitted by Center for Food... on Sun, 29/04/2007 - 09:44

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced its approval of meat and dairy products from cloned animals amidst widespread concern among scientists and food safety advocates. Despite recent consumer opinion polls showing that most Americans do not want food from cloned animals, cloned milk may soon be sold, unlabeled, in grocery stores across the country, and cloned meat will be next. Scientists say that clones may be inherently unhealthy, with potentially harmful consequences for animal foods derived from clones.

New mines and new reactors?

Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 28/04/2007 - 20:02

Today the ALP over-turned its 'no new mines' policy taking away the federal prohibition on uranium mining that has stood since 1977. Meanwhile Prime Minister John Howard has laid out his nuclear plans for Autralia exposing the intent upon the promotion of nuclear power as a clean and green solution to climate change.

The media coverage of global warming has become a roar that even climate change recalcitrants like the Prime Minister cannot ignore. Yet my experience with the Federal Government is such that I long ago lost faith in them. I previously thought that two people or organisations could look at the facts and come up with different conclusions and this explained the difference between their positions. Such differences in position would be honest and honourable.

The Ground Truth : The Human Cost Of War

Submitted by Webmaster on Fri, 27/04/2007 - 16:04

Sometimes the greatest act of courage is to tell the truth

If you have friends or family members (about to be) deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan you have to watch this devastating video. And then let your elected leaders know now that this crime against humanity is just not on.

Christadelphian Child Abusers

Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 27/04/2007 - 12:56

As a concerned member of a Southern Gold Coast Christadelphian Ecclesia i can no longer keep quite about the unacceptable behaviour of one senior member. Over a period of many years this person has molested many children and succeded by the fear of his victims and others fear of his power within the ecclesia.
I now name this evil man masquerading as a true believer. This evil and vile person is B***** S*******. (Ed: name removed)
I hope that others will come forward to remove this scar from our ecclesia.

Your Brother in Christ
