(Greens-Media) Election is a great opportunity: Organ

Submitted by Editor on Sun, 29/08/2004 - 18:46

Cunningham MP Michael Organ says the election will be very close and a great opportunity for the people of the Illawarra to confirm that they won't be taken for granted by the ALP or ignored by the Liberals again.

Greens Senator Bob Brown says Labor leader Mark Latham should commit to fixed three-year terms of federal parliament by supporting the Greens' private members' bill for fixed election dates, to be introduced next week in the Senate.

(The Courier-Mail) Court reunites runaway with dad

Submitted by Editor on Sun, 29/08/2004 - 14:57

On Tuesday The Courier-Mail published a rare and controversial interview with a young teenager who was on the run from the Child Safety Department.
********

Thirteen-year-old Peta's perspective on her week in care and her escape with her 15-year-old sister from a departmental house last Saturday provided a sad glimpse into the lives of children who are abused or the subject of abuse allegations and who are thrust into the maelstrom of the child protection system.

(PNEWS) Remember the Middle-Class?

The joblessness not only increased with Bush, but any job increases were with jobs that do not pay anything and those finding work who have been re-employed have taken jobs paying less. Real jobs have gone overseas. Real unemployment is not counted because so many have given up. And poverty has gone up. The overall poverty figures were just released and they are a disgrace. Millions of people are now impoverished and Bush and his propaganda mill are saying the economy is better. For whom? For big corporations? Halliburton?

No change there then!

Isn't it strange how those who are always screaming about rights, discrimination, bigotry and hate are never quite so quick to scream about these things when its them that are doing oppression. You guessed it. I am talking about three groups. The gays, the feminists, and the politically correct. (Hears gasp of breath as readers are staggered I have the balls and temerity to actually name these people). The BBC broadcasts personal feminist propoganda in almost every program it transmits (but not for much longer...Eh Girls?) yet refuses to allow any opposite view. Feminists lie, distort information, make up statistics on virtually everything and make death threats against anyone who dares to disagree. All in the name of being anti discriminatory. Then there are the radical gays. God help anyone who dares to speak out against their often wierd behaviour. The loonies truly are running the asylum! PC=Political Castration.

The article below shows the extent to which these feminazi views are twisting our lives and values. I think the time has come to wish these nutters a non fond farewell and lets all return to sanity.

(PNEWS) Real People and Real Despair

Submitted by Editor on Sat, 28/08/2004 - 22:32

Bush says his "well-timed tax cuts" has fueled the economy and "because we acted, our economy since last summer has grown at a rate as fast as any in nearly 20 years," and he also said, "Because we acted, the people of this country are working." It is difficult for us who are at least a little bit informed about reality of jobs and growth to believe anybody can make those claims - yet, he goes on doing it -- just as they kept on insisting that Iraq had WMD when it didn't. Do they ever get it right? You would think they do if you believed the polling that Bush is supported by easily half of all the voters (the ones who vote) in this country. Why is this a country of idiots?

(OzyDads) Empowered women, incomplete men(USA)

Submitted by Editor on Sat, 28/08/2004 - 21:23

Women educating men on how to be men!!!!
My generation of women grew up with family, society and even Barbie chanting, "We girls can do anything."

We are proud recipients of a legacy of women's advocacy. Suffragettes won women the vote. Feminists of the 1970s gained reproductive freedom and greater power in the workforce. We have been encouraged to pursue higher education and challenging careers. Now, we are professors, doctors, CEOs, lawyers and senators. We are told we need not use relationships to define ourselves, but that we can have dynamic relationships and be Supermoms while managing our careers.

Feminism has advanced the course of women, and it still addresses formidable problems of domestic violence, the wage gap and the denial of basic human rights to women worldwide. Of course, we still have a ways to go.

But what about men?
