For tens of thousands of years before 1788, this country sustained its population with food. There were not that many people around, but they were seemingly happy eating what the land and sea provided. :(

We have just received the email below from some great Australian friends who we worked with during the 2004 Presidential election. Jeremy and David have formed GetUp (www.getup.org.au)--a new political action group inspired, in part, by MoveOn. Please take a minute to read the message below.

Queensland's most vulnerable children will benefit from a whole-of-government child protection network that now operates with a single set of policies and procedures, Acting Child Safety Minister Rod Welford said today.
