Live presentations have occurred in each of the states and territories covering a range of issues relevant to contemporary craft, with a number of papers and responses. It is well worth a visit. For instance, Margie West 'Ceci n'est pas un 'basket'' discusses the cultural significance of basket-making in Arnhem land, where baskets are identified with different parts of the reproductive system.

NAVA ONLINE FORUM

23 August - 10 September 2004.

Who will speak truth to power? The National
Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) is calling for participants to have their say in an online forum. Investigating key issues facing Australian visual and craft artists today, this is a fantastic opportunity for artists, art educators, students, art administrators, organisation representatives and cultural analysts to be part of a stimulating national debate.

ARTS AND HEALTH AND WELLBEING FORUM ON CCD.NET

This ongoing discussion for all those interested in Arts, Health and Wellbeing is moderated by ANAH - the Australian Network for Arts & Health. ANAH promotes the idea that 'the arts manifest in partnership with and within health care environments in many ways; as community cultural development, public art, arts therapy, with art-making and collecting and in health promotion. Potentially each of these practices can represent the cultural development of the vast health and welfare sector, working toward the well being of our communities."
