(CommGovSpin) HMAS Gascoyne home after service in the Solomons

The Royal Australian Navy's minehunter coastal, HMAS GASCOYNE and her ship's company of 42 personnel returned to her homeport at HMAS WATERHEN in Sydney today after two months contributing to Operation ANODE in the waters off the Solomon Islands.

They were welcomed home by friends and family.

HMAS GASCOYNE spent 45 days on station providing protection and general support to the participating police forces of the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands. They also assisted with humanitarian tasks.

HMAS GASCOYNE worked alongside the Australian Federal Police, Army and other Royal Australian Navy ships during her operational deployment.
