Tax Help volunteers

Every year over 9 million Australians need to lodge an individual Tax Return. Tax Help volunteers help over 74 000 of these people meet their personal tax obligations each year.The Taxation Office will be conducting training in Cairns to any volunteers that would like to learn how to prepare simple tax returns for individuals eg, High School students, University students, unemployed people.WHAT IS TAX HELP?Tax Help is a network of trained community volunteers who help people prepare their tax returns at tax time each year. Tax Help volunteers are recruited from the general community-many arecurrently acting as volunteers in another capacity.Tax Help volunteers are not employees of the Tax Office but we officially support the program.WHO IS ELIGIBLE?The Tax Help program caters for people on lowincomes with basic individual tax returns.
