16 August 2007 - Today’s Senate Standing Committee on Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport majority report into water supply options for South East Queensland produced recommendations that don't go far enough, with only the additional comments by Greens Senator Rachel Siewert applying the evidence before the Inquiry and recommending that the Traveston Dam be scrapped.

14 August 2007 - The Greens are calling for urgent action in establishing a local food produce market in the North Queensland city of Townsville to help farmers reduce transport costs and to provide fresher, cheaper fruit and vegetables to consumers.

9 August 2007 - Nationals Queensland Senator Ron Boswell has been fooled by a Beattie government press release claiming that the terms of reference for the Environmental Impact Statement for Traveston Dam newly included the need to consider alternatives to the dam – when in fact that requirement was in the draft terms of reference already.

12 August 2007 - Today at the Ekka, Greens Senate candidate Larissa Waters launched the Greens’ Sustainable Agriculture Policy Initiative, including a new proposal for the nation’s first State of Origin food labelling for Australian produce to promote local farms to Queensland consumers and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transporting produce.

8 August 2007 - This morning’s public gathering outside the Federal Court in Brisbane in support of the hearing to reinstate Dr Haneef’s visa ended abruptly when police blocked a handful of citizens from entering the Court, citing “building safety” as their paramount concern.

7 August 2007 - Today’s release of the terms of reference for the Traveston Dam Environmental Impact Statement shows the Queensland Government has closed its mind to alternative water supply options for South East Queensland, and is ignoring the impacts of climate change on rainfall patterns.

6 August 2006 - The Greens have joined in the annual rally for peace and nuclear disarmament at yesterday's Hiroshima Day in Brisbane, warning that the major parties’ uranium fetish will increase the likelihood of another nuclear event like the bombing of Hiroshima.
