"This mission coincides with the Coal Mining and Equipment and Services Trade Exhibition which is being staged in Shanghai this week," Mr Beattie said.
"Queensland is internationally recognised as a source of smart mining services companies and this mission is no exception.
"This year the mission is once again dominated by mining services companies from Mackay and Rockhampton. A significant number of the participants are involved in the provision of expertise related to mine safety training and management.
"They include, Callidan Instruments, Longwall Associates Australia and JSIS Engineering from Mackay, ComEnergy from Pullenvale, Central Highland Safety Services from Rockhampton.
"As well as having the opportunity to attend the Coal Mining and Equipment and Services Trade Exhibition to drum up business, they will also visit a number of key mine sites in Shanxi Province such as the Shanxi coal mine site and Yanzishan coal mine.
"Northern China's Shanxi province is known as China's coal warehouse.
"It is one of the most resource rich provinces in China with more than 100 different minerals so far discovered, including bauxite, refractory clay, alumina, and zeolite.
"The Queensland Government's Coal Mining Mission to China follows on from the Queensland Government's successful coal equipment mission held in 2003.
"This resulted in almost $30 million worth of business for Queensland companies.
"It paved the way for the signing of a $14 million contract for ComEnergy to supply unique technology to Chinese mining company Hebi Heavy Coal Group.
"I also had the pleasure of witnessing the signing of the JSIS Engineering agreement to export the company's technology to the Zoucheng Tiangong Electrical and Mechanical Equipment Company when I was in China in July 2004.
"The initial contact with Zoucheng Tiangong was made during the Queensland Government's 2003 coal equipment mission to China.
"The 2004 mission will give Queensland mining related businesses the opportunity to build on these achievements."
