The Party's President, Andrea Mason, who is running for a South Australian Senate seat, is also calling for the introduction of a day of remembrance for fathers who have committed suicide because they could not cope with being denied what she calls proper access to their children.

Ms Mason says Family First supports changes to the law so that 50/50 joint custody applies automatically unless there are issues of risk to the children involving the parents.
