Kathleen Swinbourne is in fine father hating form in the Single Parents Union?s press release of 21 September 2004.

In this ?press release? she takes issue with 50/50 parenting saying that research shows that 50/50 parenting does not benefit children but, as usual, does not quote or make reference to any research to support her "claims" and calls caring fathers that want to have a real involvement in their children?s lives by fighting for 50/50 residence ?neo-paternalistic?.

?It is time Ms Swinbourne was taken to task over this so called research?,

says Kevin Boers, media spokesperson for Fathers4Equality. ?And we are ready and willing to do so. We challenge Ms Swinbourne to a debate on the topic anywhere, anytime, on TV, radio, in a shopping centre, on-line, in a community centre, a shopping centre or on a soapbox. Let the people of Australia decide whether 50/50 parenting is or is not of benefit to children?, Kevin went on to say. ?We are confident that the people of Australia will see what Ms Swinbourne?s true agenda is ? that mothers keep their unreasonable advantage in the area of family law.?

Well, Ms Swinbourne, how about it? Do you dare go truly public and debate this important social and social justice issue? Or do you wish to go on hiding behind press releases? Or does she want to continue to speak for the minority? Ms Swinbourne is, apparently, unaware of Fathers4Equalities on-line petition and the fact that 20% of those that have signed the petition agreeing that 50/50 parenting is best for children are custodial parents.

Equal Parenting ? It?s about children and it?s about time.
