With Peter Garrett selling us out and the Howard Government's Nuclear Australian dream, I think its time to bring it to public on this day when we converge at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy.

Little Johnny Howard appears on stage outside the Parliament giving out Australian of the year certificates. Last year we got close enough to the stage for him to see us.

The Beyond Nuclear Initiative invites you to the Beyond Nuclear Symposium in Melbourne on September 15-16, 2006. The Symposium is the largest of its type in 2006, with experts addressing issues from weapons proliferation, proposed nuclear waste dumps, Australia's ability to develop renewable sources of energy, as well as Senior Traditional Owners talking about the effects the industry is having on their communities and country.

People in numerous cities across Australia will today target Parsons Brinckerhoff, the private company contracted to assess the Federal Government's proposed sites for a Commonwealth nuclear waste dump in the Northern Territory.

A range of creative and diverse actions will occur at Parsons Brinckerhoff offices in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Holly Creenaune, National Convenor of the Australian Student Environment Network said "Communities surrounding all of the sites being assessed in the Northern Territory ; Harts Range, Mt Everard, and Fishers Ridge, remain strongly opposed to hosting a nuclear waste dump for the next few thousand years."
